I was on Kim’s amazing six-day tour of the Asheville area. We covered so much ground in that time. You really need that time to see the city and the highlights of the surrounding area, which I would never have found on my own. It amazed me that she was able to coordinate the touring part with meals, events, and activities. Our van driver was very knowledgeable too. Scheduling of activities ran very smoothly and not rushed, yet we got to do and see so much. I can’t imagine how much planning goes into this trip. Thank you, Kim.

Itinerary
Our tour officially begins this evening with a warm welcome and an extraordinary dinner that will introduce you to the innovative and multi-cultural culinary innovation of Zurich. We’ll gather at one of the city’s most beloved vegan restaurants, where the chefs are passionately using local, seasonal, and global flavors and cooking methods.
As we sit down to our first dinner together, you’ll enjoy lovingly crafted dishes such as white bean mousse, charred cabbage, and a rosewater sundae along with optional craft cocktails or wine. Each bite tells a story of the cosmopolitan openness of the Swiss people. Over the course of the evening, you’ll meet your fellow travelers, hear about the days to come, and share in the anticipation of the week ahead. There will be time to toast new friendships, soak in the ambiance, and ease into the rhythm of the country.
The next morning, after a breakfast and orientation, we’ll begin our exploration of the historic, meticulously preserved quarter of old Zürich. One of the oldest areas of the northern part of the city, it has managed to preserve its cobbled streets, stunning architecture, and elegant European spirit. It is a place where merchants, thinkers, and reformers have shaped history for centuries, and today we’ll walk in their footsteps.
Our lunch stop is a visit to one of the world’s first vegetarian restaurants. This iconic landmark is a window into the complex world of global plant-based movements, ethics, and culinary history. As we move through the establishment and savor our delicious meal, we’ll gain a deeper sense of how this extraordinary institution helped channel Switzerland’s role in food innovation and sustainability.
After savoring our meal, we’ll move toward the city’s stunning waterfront for an afternoon exploring Lake Zürich. Here, you can enjoy the pure water by taking a dip from the grassy shores like the locals do, or simply stroll along the promenade and soak in the views.
The rest of the afternoon is free for you to continue exploring the city at your own pace! You may wander through the boutique-lined Bahnhofstrasse, take in the artistic details of the Old Town, and have a free evening to have dinner on your own or in small groups tonight.
